Common printing methods include:
1. Heat Transfer Printing
Heat transfer printing is an emerging printing process. In this process, ink is first printed onto paper (which has been coated), and then a heat transfer machine is used to transfer the design from the paper onto the textile.
This printing process consists of two parts: transfer film printing and transfer processing:
Transfer film printing uses halftone printing (300 dpi resolution) to pre-print the design onto the film surface. The printed designs feature rich tonal gradations, vivid colors, endless variations, minimal color deviation, and excellent reproducibility, meeting the designer’s requirements and making it suitable for large-scale production.
The transfer process uses a heat transfer machine to apply heat and pressure in a single step, transferring the exquisite design from the transfer film onto the product’s surface. After the process is complete, the ink layer fuses seamlessly with the product’s surface, creating a vivid and attractive finish that significantly enhances the product’s quality and appeal.
II: Digital Direct-to-Fabric Printing
Digital direct-to-fabric printing is suitable for reactive, acid, pigment, and disperse inks. This process involves spraying ink directly onto pre-treated semi-finished textiles.
III: Cold Transfer Printing
Similar to heat transfer printing, this method first requires printing the ink onto paper, followed by using specialized machinery to press the paper against the fabric to transfer the design. There are two methods for treating the pressed fabric: one involves traditional processes such as steaming, washing, and setting; the other uses a cold chemical reaction to fix the color (the fabric must be chemically pre-treated).
