Digital direct-to-fabric printers may encounter various issues during use, including print quality problems, operational issues, and hardware malfunctions. Below are some common problems and their solutions:

Blurry print lines: Check if the media is damp; unplug and replug or replace the printhead cable; reinstall the software; and inspect the circuit boards and fiber-optic cables.

Irregular ink breaks on the test page: Check if the ink cartridges, tubing, and ink reservoirs are sufficiently filled; run the printer cleaning program; check the print bed for foreign objects; and inspect the ink reservoir caps and squeegee for dirt or damage.

The entire test page fails to print: Check if the ink is empty or if the ink reservoirs are damaged; replace the ink reservoirs in their correct positions; and check if the tubing or ink cartridges are clogged. If the issue lies below the ink reservoirs, inspect the nozzles and cleaning unit.

Unable to flush ink: Manually check if ink is flowing; check if the ink cartridge tubing is clogged, if the ink tube clips are open, if the cleaning pump is functioning, if the printer has been idle for an extended period, if the ink reservoirs or nozzles have solidified, and if the ink reservoir cap is clogged.

Printer cannot connect to the network: Restart the printer and computer; replace the connection cable between the printer and computer; reinstall the driver software; check if the network adapter in the computer’s Device Manager is a GBE Gigabit Ethernet card; replace the computer or reinstall the operating system; inspect the printer’s motherboard.

Carriage movement is abnormal and cannot return to home position: Check the home sensor; clean or replace it; inspect the motor; check the fiber-optic cable; verify the software; inspect the circuit board.

Fine line printing issues: Check if the grating is dirty or damaged; clean or replace it. Check the printhead cable; unplug and reinsert it or replace it. Check the connection cable between the carriage board and the mainboard.

Ink dripping from print nozzles: Excessive dirt buildup at the bottom of the nozzles; clean thoroughly. Fine fibers from the printing platform are caught on the nozzles; damaged ink cartridge; ruptured ink tube; aged nozzles; malfunction of the mainboard or control board.

Sudden pauses during printing: Check if the media is flat and has not triggered the collision sensor; check if the computer has frozen; check and replace the connection cable between the computer and the garment printer; check if the power supply to the carriage board is normal; check the carriage motor.

Media curling: Check if the media is lying flat on the printing bed; check if the bed adhesive is sticky.

Ink splatter: The nozzle is positioned too high; lower the nozzle height appropriately. The flash spray position is improperly adjusted; adjust the flash spray position. Static electricity is the cause; connect the machine and computer to a standard ground wire. The media itself has excessive static electricity; replace the media.

The solutions to these issues cover multiple aspects, ranging from hardware inspections to software adjustments, to ensure users can take appropriate measures to resolve various problems.
